This skinning project is a representation of
P-47D-30-RA Thunderbolt, serial number 44-41133, personalized signature "Mary"
of the 492th. Fighter Squdron, 48th. Fighter Group, 9th. Air Force
based at the forward landing ground number 'A-92' at St.Trond France during the Winter of 1944/45.

This HiRes skin was created for Emil's Ardennes'44 "Battle of The Bulge" Campaign
and while be installed into the Campaign's P47C slot.....

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The skin model was based on an original LoRes skin created by Fabio Mele......Thanks Fabio for the inspiration.

Kudos go to John "Chompy" Masters for providing the orginal 3D modding/enhancements
and DeanH for basic all-metal skin surfaces.
Many thanks guys for raising the bar and adding greatly to the look and enjoyment of this 3D modded skin.....

The modding mechanics of switching this skin to the P47C slot was accomplished with the guidance
from both Brian"Crashin'Jack"Baker and Roel"VonBeerhofen"Bartels......

The Conversion tools used were the "cdfextractor" found on Cord's EAW Site
and Moggy's MogProg SwapSlot Utility.....which I believe was modified from
the SlotSwapper Utility originally created by Mr.Jelly

Skinner's Notes:

It might be noted that finding information and/or documentation on most 9th.Air Force Fighter Groups
serving in the ETO is very difficult to come by. So, most reference material,
for this skin had to come from many sources.....

The skin's markings, as far as the Fighter Group and Squadron colours
are based on reference material found in "Squadron/Signal Publications "Air Force Colors"
Volume#2 ETO/MTO 1942-1945 by Dana Bell

The personalized name was based on Fabio Mele's LoRes representation of this aircraft.

All the mission markings, Bombing Missions, Train Kills and Escort Missions, although accurate for the theatre.
They are not historically correct for this aircraft. IMHO I thought that they would add to the aircraft's look
as a true ground pounder. My apoligies to all those 'Rivet Counters' how maybe shaking their collective heads
at this moment.....

Most of the details were originally found on DeanH's HiRes model of the 78thFG P47D.
Which provided a great base from which to develop this skin further.....

As with most of my other skin releases, I have taken the time to apply and correct, as needed, skin panels
and weathering effects to creat the aircraft's appearance of a fighting work horse of the 9th. Air Force,
based in France, during the hard winter of 1944/45.....

Enjoy and watch your six.......
